Newborn to Newborn

Ok so here is quick show and tell about Very Baby and Sugar Plum Baby Newborn Diapers differences:

Very Baby:

• I would recommend for smaller to normal size babies and these will fit up to about 12lbs.
• Elastic in the tummy area
• narrower crotch
• A little more in price

Sugar Plum Baby:

• I would recommend for normal to chubbier babies. 7lbs up to 12lbs
• Flat tummy panel
  
• slightly larger rise then Very Baby
• lower in price because I own this pattern
  

I hope this helps when trying to pick one of my newborn diapers. They are not the same pattern and one diaper is designed for the larger size babies like my son was. LOL I do sew then the same way as far as sergering, elastic, and fabric layers go however.

Ok I am sending off this diaper to The Review Stew I will keep you posted once the review is given. The Nykibaby One Size Pocket also includes my insert upgrade that I recommend for heavier wetters and night time use. I can not wait to see what she has to say.

Stuff to watch for this fall!

So here is the plan. After all the group buy orders are done I will be:

1. making Very Baby Newborn diapers in all the prints we have for custom orders. It has been suggested and I only think it is fair that you see a representation of the diaper print. All of these that will be stocked are going to be made in Cotton Sherpa and lined in Cotton velour. I will not be stocking cotton velour once it is gone just bamboo velour.
2. I will be adding custom orders for Sugar Plum Baby and making all the newborn diapers to picture the prints.
3. Sugar Plum Baby Newborn 6 Pack diapers will only be offered in 6 great colors. Baby Blue, Baby Pink, Purple, Jade Green, Rainbow, and Spring Green.(Once I have the Pictures for all of these I will make the change.)
   
4. getting 1 of every solid color and print pul in Nykibaby One Size Diapers.

The goal is to finish all of this by the end of the year. I have received a few new prints in knits and pul.

Up coming stuff.

Ok I am in the middle of sewing Nykibaby One Size Pocket Diapers and Very Baby One Size Pocket Diapers. All of these diapers are made of poly print pul. These will be fun for summer time fun. I have 14 cut out. I am shooting for Thursday June 17th to stock these diapers.

Next on the list is Hemp Plum Night diapers. My plans are to make 6 of these and then open custom orders up for them. I have received a shipment of Micro Chamois(Micro Fleece) this stuff is super soft and suppose to be pill resistant according to the manufacturer. I will have 3 colors white, lime, and periwinkle(but this is more of a dark lavender and matches my lavender snaps).

I am planning to have single diapers, and 3 packs available for made to order/custom order diapers. 3 Packs will be $59 and single diapers price depends on size: Small $20.95; Medium $22.95; Large $24.95; X-Large $28.95

The third thing I am planning on working on over the summer is more Very baby One Sized fitted diapers and Sugar Plum Baby sized fitted diapers. I will be focusing on making them out of cotton sherpa and lining them out of bamboo velour and cotton velour using some cute knit prints I have that are not part of my custom orders. These are diaper cuts and limited quantity, so you could say they will be limited edition prints.

This pocket diaper can be stuffed with your favorite inserts but we recommend our one sized insert which is a tri-fold type insert about 12inch by 15inch, 2 layers of bamboo 2 layer of bamboo fleece(70% viscose from bamboo, 30% organic cotton) and 1 layer of hemp fleece(55% hemp, 45% organic cotton).

Happy Sunny day

Yeah I am excited things have been going well sewing wise this week with the Sugar Plum Baby diapers.

Next weeks stocking will be new Newborns and Smalls. These cute yummy diapers are all bamboo fleece/ bamboo velour lined. You will love how they feel on your little one. I also had some fun matching colors. Previews will be up soon and they will be available for sale on Monday March 22, 2010.

I do find sewing smalls and newborns so much fun because they are just cute little diapers that need to bless a little one's bum with yummy softness.

Monday March 8th Stocking

I have currently 10 Very Baby One Sized Pocket diapers cut out. I plan to have these finished and available 03/08/2010.

My pocket diapers feature:

• a snap down rise for a small, medium and large settings
  
• a rise that fits from about 13 to 17 inch
• Aplix Velcro fasteners
• cross over and laundry tabs
• recommend these diapers for babies 12lbs to 35lbs
• PUL laminate outer waterproof barrier
• Micro-fleece or suede cloth used as a wicking layer to pull moisture away from your little one's bum
• top stitched leg areas to help form a mini-gusset to help contain the mess
• 2 hemp or bamboo inserts for you to stuff the diaper with
• nice trim fit
• MSRP for the diaper will be $21.95 but keep in-mind this will include a hemp or bamboo inserts. We will make them available for $17.95 with no insert.

Here is one of our specialties. We love making night time diapers. Sleep is just so important for everyone. This lot is made up of Plum Night Diapers made of both Hemp and Bamboo(rayon of bamboo), size medium and larges. For our first stocking there will be 12 of them. If we start seeing requests for the extra larges or smalls we will start stocking them. the price range for these diapers are $24.00 to $30.00. These will be available Monday February 22 at our Monkey Toe Diapers store.

Happy New Year to you! I hope your Holidays were great no matter what you were doing.

I know I have been quiet but that is because I was enjoying family time and getting year end paper work done. Which, by the way, now I can get even more diapers sewn. I will get a few previews up of the diapers I will be stocking 02/22/2010. Our first diaper stocking of 2010! You wonder why then because my family and I will be visiting Disney World for the first time at the beginning of February. Besides we all need to recover from the Holidays!
